Would your favorite family holiday to Mediterranean resort if asked be perhaps Italy or Spain?

There is a growing trend of holiday makers who would put Egypt as their first choice. This may seem unbelievable, but think of the available coastline of the Mediterranean Egypt has to offer.

The Mediterranean coast stretches from Alexandria in the east to the Libyan desert in the west.

There is plenty on offer for luxury holidays in an area which still boasts its fair share of original and authentic villages. The village of Al-Hamman represents some of Egypt’s diverse history, and was built over 2000 years ago by the Greeks. it is famous for its cistern, one of many build by the Romans in the second century. The original market was used by pilgrims enroute to and from Africa.

It is now the main commercial centre for all the new resorts and holiday villages. Sidi Abdel Rahman is another popular Egypt holidays destination, which boast stunning white sandy beaches and clear seawater. The inconsistent of the winter climate can be the downside of the northern region.
In the southern resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada there is an all year round warm climate and plenty of activities.

Sharm El-Sheikh (also known as the City of Peace) was until recently a quiet fishing village. It is almost unrecognisible today, and has become one of most visited resorts in Egypt.

It is the centre of the country’s diving industry, and boasts some of the best luxury hotels in Egypt. The scenery underwater is stunning, because of the crystal clear water. Within this, it is possible to see rare and beautiful reefs home to a large variety of exotic fish. You don’t have to be the world’s best diver to enjoy all of this.

It is visible simply by using a snorkel off the coast. But there are plenty of challenges for all levels, including the more accomplished scuba diver.

Sam Tlecani is the owner and a driver for Pyramids Limo Service of Denver. Pyramids is a Denver Limo Service, and Denver Airport Transportation Service as well.
In a capsule summary, most of Sam’s fares are airport rides, but he also provides general Denver Limousine transportation, as well.

In a sense, most of Sam’s rides are routine, and yet none are routine. Yesterday, Sam had an airport ride, leaving from a residential neighborhood. Like most house to airport fares, this individual was a Denver resident flying to another city on personal business. Parker Road is an affluent section of Denver, and this woman had a house combination ranch. When Sam drove up, she was feeding her horses and her dog. Sam picked up her bags which were near her garage, and carried them to the car. Carrying bags is one of the duties of the chauffeur at private residences, but not at the airport. Sam doesn’t exactly where a uniform when he drives. In the winter, however, he dresses n a suit and tie, and in the summer a shirt and tie. This woman was flying out of Denver to visit her sick father in Pennsylvania.

She had called Sam just yesterday, after finding his listing on the Internet. Sam was very pleased, more than usual to get this reservation. For weeks he had been working hard to get his website a first page listing on the Google Local search for Airport Limo. Just yesterday, by dint of a mixture of effort and luck, he had moved his listing to the first company on page 1. Apparently the woman he was now driving had made a search on Google for “Denver Airport Limo.” She probably decided to click on the first company on the list, which was Sam’s. She got to Sam’s web site, liked what she saw, and gave him call.

The pickup was on time, and Sam decided to use the expressway to get to Denver International Airport. The ride took 40 minutes, and was uneventful. The woman liked the ride and the car. She told Sam that if her husband could not meet her at the airport, when she returns, then she would give him a call.

World standard e-passports for Filipinos will be the legacy of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to the global Filipinos who keep the economy afloat and allowed the Philippines to stay off the worldwide recession course.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo expressed this as he demonstrated to President Arroyo the country’s first e-passport, with serial number EA0000001, during the 111th anniversary celebration of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Philippines President Arroyo was the one who launched the e-passport project, which had its beginnings in 2007.

The project launch was a déjà vu, Romulo admitted, and “proved the soothsayers wrong,” mostly political opponents and militant groups, in their never ending tirades that the project will not come to pass.

A French company, Oberthur Technologies, won the project contract after outbidding over 14 other companies in a public auction conducted by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in 2007.

Romulo also pledged that the department could be counted on “helping to protect Filipinos everywhere.”

With today’s launching, the Philippines becomes the 6th member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to start e-passporting, that Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Domingo Lucenario described as “fully tamper-proof,” “non-hackable” world-class travel document.

The Philippines aligns with the “elite club” of 60 nations worldwide in implementing the e-passport system. Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia were ahead in e-passporting.

Outside of the Association of South East Asian Nations, the pacesetters in e-passporting include the United States, Japan, South Korea, India, Hong Kong, China, France, Spain, Russia, and Germany.

Bastien Blanc, Oberthur’s project director, said his company used “internationally-certified technology” and that biometrics and other data in the passport chip were kept safe by digitalized signature.

Lucenario said a limited number of between 5,000 to 10,000 passports, with senior citizens being the priority, would initially be issued in October.

Lucenario’s Office of Consular Affairs targets to issue between two to four million e-passports in one-year period.

But even with the launch of e-passports, which costs P900, Philippine people still have the right to acquire what is known as a machine–readable passport (MRP), which is cheaper at P500, Lucenario said.

MRPs are still compliant with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO).

ICAO has set April 1, 2010 as the due date for world governments to comply with the standards.

At the onset of MRPs, so-called green passports were also being issued. But issuing them had to be terminated because they are not ICAO-compliant and were easily tampered with, putting their holders at great risk when abroad. Trafficking in persons was at its worst in the days of green passports.

Lucenario said happenings of forgery and other forms of tampering have “significantly declined” since MRPs began to be issued.

Lucenario, who was awarded the “Order of Sikatuna, rank of Datu” by President Macapagal-Arroyo for being the “leading proponent of MRP and e-passport,” said that valid green passports, numbering about five million, will still be honored. Following that, holders may renew them with either an MRP or e-passport.

An e-passport belongs to the highest level, one where a Filipino holder will get the most effective and immediate attention from an immigration officer of a country being visited because it is “triple-validated,” Lucenario said.

E-passport is “definitely an anti-terrorism tool,” he said.

By triple-validation, the host country’s immigration officer can check the face of a visiting Filipino against his photo and fingerprint in the passport by placing it into a machine, whereupon the passport chip reveals the biometrics required for full identification. A false holder of a valid e-passport can thus be detected by such a procedure.

Britain’s regional director for immigration Ed Mackie commended the project, saying it would help much in getting Filipinos better helped abroad, including in the United Kingdom.

An added that an edge of the e-passport is that it can be replaced in “real time,” but that it takes “about two or three days” for courier service, Lucenario said.

Get handy know how about Get On Google Page One – read this page.

In what is proving to be a very busy year for Birmingham International Airport, two important milestones are being acknowledged in 2009.

On 30th May, the 25th Anniversary of the opening of the airport’s “new” £29 million terminal was celebrated. Opening to the public on 4th April 1984, the new terminal was officially opened five days earlier by Her Majesty the Queen, who was accompanied by His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. At that time the site was comprised of what is now Terminal 1, and the improvements included better commuter links, new taxiways and the construction of additional facilities for parking at Birmingham Airport; quite a contrast to the original site at Elmdon that had been in operation since 1939. The project was completed 12 weeks ahead of schedule (something that seems almost impossible in today’s world), and gave Birmingham one of the most modern terminal facilities to be found anywhere in Europe.

Birmingham Airport had grown to serve just over 1.7 million passengers by 1984, and these days they’re getting closer to the 10 million mark as more and more travellers from the area make it their airport of choice.

Paul Kehoe, Birmingham Airport’s CEO, said: “It is poignant that at a time when we are focusing on the future, with planning permission secured for a runway extension, that we should also be looking back to the opening of the Airport’s current site. It certainly doesn’t seem 25 years since the Airport unveiled its new terminal and it has seen plenty of changes throughout the years!”

And the changes continue with the opening this year of a new £40 million International Pier, which coincides with the airport’s 70th Anniversary celebrations. The new pier will be three storeys, 240 metres long and 24 metres wide. The top level will accommodate departing passengers, the middle level is for arrivals and the ground floor will provide office space for airline and handling agents. This new facility will provide aircraft parking space for seven wide-bodied aircraft, plus enough space to serve thirteen smaller aircraft at any given time. It will also be able to accommodate newer, environmentally-efficient wide-bodied aircraft like the Airbus A350 and the Boeing 787 “Dreamliner”, along with the Boeing 777, which is already serving Birmingham Airport on a daily basis.

As a special birthday present, and to celebrate the new Pier’s opening, Emirates will fly in the Airbus A380 “superjumbo” on the 9th of September. Tim Clark, the President of Emirates Airline, said: “Emirates and Birmingham International Airport have enjoyed a successful partnership since we started services in 2000, and it’s fitting that we should mark this significant milestone in the airport’s history by flying in our most talked about aircraft.” Making it even more special is the fact that this will be the first commercial flight of an A380 in the United Kingdom outside of London Heathrow Airport.

Referring to the anniversaries and the opening of the International Pier this year, Mr. Kehoe said: “Hopefully people will look back in another 25 years and recognise 2009 as a historic year in the development of the Airport.”

You are so busy with all the work from the office plus other obligations that need your attention. But you are excited because your vacation is coming up. Your money is ready, your vacation clothes are ready, and you know where exactly to go to. But that’s about it. You don’t want to bother yourself for researching about the best airlines and hotel accommodations. The answer would be to find a good travel agent and an inclusive vacation packages.

Any travel agent worth their salt can provide you with a dream itinerary in the form of an all inclusive vacation package. You tell the travel agent where you want to go and how much money you’re willing to spend. The travel agent takes it from there.

Travel agents have the inside scoop on all the best airfares, reputable hotels, transportation options, touring opportunities and the most popular tourist activities. Arranging the all inclusive vacation packages is a piece of cake. They know where to look and book your vacation day’s activities. It can’t be easier.

Shop around for a travel agent with a good track record. If you have friends who have booked their vacation packages with an agent who lived up to the claims, go visit that agent. Look online for travel agents who specialize in the all inclusive vacation packages. Visit travel message boards and chat with other travelers who have used this vacation option. You can pick up valuable leads here.

The all inclusive vacation package covers everything, from airfare to accommodation, right on through to a guided tour to the Colosseum or a scuba diving excursion.

Be sure to check on insurance and eventualities, such as what to do should you find your hotel room is unacceptable or overbooked. While all inclusive vacation packages cost more than self booking, you gain recourse in the event of a snafu. Ask your travel agent just what backup is available should you find yourself stranded. Again, a reputable travel agent has the answers and can handle any problems, should they arise.

Your travel agent can also advise you on the details needing attention before you travel, depending on your destination. This includes visas, airport security, currency exchange rates and the like.

So, are you ready to party?

From now until August 26, you can enjoy a four night stay in the four-star Bella Luce Hotel in Guernsey for just £299 per person, based on two adults sharing, if you book on Condor Breaks.

Included in this price is a return ferry from Portsmouth and bed and breakfast accommodation in the quaint Guernsey town of St. Martins. Your double or twin room will have en-suite facilities, satellite TV, a direct-dial telephone, a hairdryer, and tea/coffee-making facilities. You also have access to the hotel’s sauna and solarium, the restaurant where the chef specialises in fresh local seafood, the cosy lounge bar, an outdoor heated pool and gardens.

Guernsey is an excellent place to relax and unwind, with sandy beaches, stunning scenery, and a vast array of shops and restaurants for all your contemporary needs. Geographically, Guernsey is closer to France than England, and people on the island speak both languages and embrace both cultures.

If you want to learn more about Guernsey while you’re there, there are more than enough museums and visitors attractions to see. Take your pick from the National Trust of Guernsey Folk and Costume Museum, the German Occupation Museum, La Vallette Underground Military Museum, the National Trust of Guernsey Victorian Shop and Parlour, Castle Cornet, or the Fort Grey and Shipwreck Museum…to name but a few.

Right through the summer there are things going on in Guernsey. Take a ghost tour through Sausmarez Manor in St. Martins. Check out Randall’s Brewery to learn all about making the perfect ale (and get yourself a free pint while you’re at it). Have a stroll through the beautiful Candie Gardens on a Sunday afternoon to catch one of the weekly music and dance concerts. Pick up some delectable local goods at one of the weekly markets; there’s St. Peter’s country market every Wednesday, the Sausmarez Farmers Market every Saturday and the Castel Parish Farmers Market every other Saturday.

If your money is burning a hole in your pocket, there is ample opportunity for shopping in Guernsey. Getting around the island to do all this couldn’t be easier, or cheaper, as the island tries to provide alternatives to private motors. Bus services are cheap, regular and reliable, with single fares costing just 60p. If you prefer, you can rent a bike from one of Guernsey’s cycle companies (such as Cycleworld), and there are designated cycle lanes on a lot of the roads through the main towns. If you do decide that a car is the way to go, you can rent one from Europcar at Guernsey Airport, or one of the many other car hire companies. It’s a cheap way to travel, with lower petrol duties, free parking, and lower hire rates than much of the rest of Europe, and you can get an information leaflet from the local police station for warnings about any peculiarities.

Many people don’t realize the value that an off season ski town can provide for the family wishing to flee the heat and reconnect with each other and nature. The same ritzy resorts that will break the family’s piggy bank during winter season will provide exceptional value for small or large groups wishing to enjoy all that the mountain high country has to offer during the off season summer months.
It’s only been a few years since mountain visitors discovered that the high country provides such an oasis but since they have the resort companies are happy to entertain. Off season culinary events, outdoor music festivals, rodeos, art festivals, and Bar BQs abound as resort officials try to entice families from the heat stricken homes to the cool summer mountain air. Activities available to the mountain visitor include fly fishing, river rafting, golf, hiking, biking, kayaking, ballooning, horseback riding, wildlife touring, zip lining, golfing, wildflower and bird watching. Of course you can always skip the activities and go directly to the extraordinary food, wine and world class shopping the resorts has to offer. By the way some of the best restaurants and shops offer off season deals intended to keep their staff busy during the lower revenue times so don’t hesitate to stop by that great restaurant you wouldn’t otherwise splurge on. Remember that it is customary and classy to tip on the full price if the discounted meal. In many case you’ll enjoy a 5 star meal for half of the price. Check local newspapers or ask a local on the street for the inside scoop on the deals. Local resort residents are usually happy to share the information; it’s not as if you’ll steal their table this time of year.
In order to locate the best experiences for your mountain visit the internet will be your best initial resource. Large resort companies will offer published promotions and freebies, but don’t hesitate to call a smaller management company to talk about the deals they have available. The finest luxury homes are often managed by smaller more exclusive companies. Sometime the company with the least budget for advertising (read overhead) has the most flexibility with rates particularly if you are flexible enough to travel last minute. Travel companies are often most flexible last minute since they are dealing with “perishable inventory”. Finally unless you have a travel representative you are loyal to, try to work directly with the smaller local companies. A travel agent puts one more commission in the equation which will ultimately push up the rate you pay. In closing the mountains offer an oasis of cool mountain air and sizzling summer savings, but don’t wait to reserve your off season home rental because the summer is slipping by.

The beginning of July 2009 saw Manchester Airport relaunch their flagship Terminal 1, with the aim of putting more fun back into flying and to help passengers feel their holiday is starting at the airport.

The overhaul cost £50 million and has taken place over the past two years, after the completion of an in-depth psychological study of passengers’ states of mind as they travelled through the airport.

Expert psychologists studied passengers’ body language, plus monitored their comments and conversations, to help create a picture of the emotions experienced as they passed through the airport. Stress points were identified for travellers using Manchester Airport car parking facilities, at check-in and when passing through security. It was found that most passengers are keen to get past these areas of the airport in order to relax and get into the proper holiday spirit.

The airport then took the results of these studies and, in partnership with leading retail property developer Milligan, set about redesigning Terminal 1 to make the experience of travelling through Manchester Airport more enjoyable for all passengers. The designs went through many changes since they were initiated in 2005, due to changes in the security regime as a result of the liquids ban in 2006 and the attack on Glasgow Airport in 2007. Tightened security saw Manchester Airport abolish all “before security” shops in its terminals.

The departures level in Terminal 1 now boasts a new retail and catering area that is considerably larger than the pedestrian zones of King Street and Market Street in Manchester City Centre. New stores include Dixons, Monsoon, Starbucks, Kurt Geiger, Fat Face, Mango and SoHo Coffee House, which compliment existing shops Biza and Attitude that were launched last year. Passengers will even be able to enjoy spa services like massages and beauty treatments at a new Be Relax location.

In addition to the introduction of new retail spaces, the airport has also splashed out on new security enhancements to help improve safety. For example, more than £2 million has been spent on special scanners that can pick up different types of liquids, with an alarm being set off if anything suspicious is found. There have also been many more concrete blocks installed outside entrances to help prevent another Glasgow-style attack.

Andrew Cornish, Managing Director for Manchester Airport, said: “Our terminal redesigns have had to withstand the test of time with the liquid ban and the terrorist attack on Glasgow Airport meaning we had to take them back to the drawing board several times, always putting our customers safety and security at the forefront of our designs. However, with the work finished in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 set to follow shortly after, the future looks bright. We’ve seen retail growth outstrip the high street over recent years and many of our passengers have enjoyed the offering here at Manchester previously but we wanted to significantly invest in it and now we will wait to see whether those changes have an effect.”

As more travellers are enticed to Manchester Airport as a result of the Terminal 1 refurbishment, it’s sure to have a positive knock-on effect for nearby businesses like Manchester Airport hotels, restaurants and even petrol garages.

It can only be a matter of time before more airports follow Manchester’s lead to try and boost passenger numbers, which is nothing but good news for holidaymakers across the UK.
